Soñador is the cornerstone of the dream that Luna Escondida represents. The horse has been part of this ranch since its very beginning, and his presence runs quietly through everything this place stands for. To share our horses with those who become part of our story is to open a door to understanding what Luna truly is. The photographs taken in their company capture something that cannot be staged: the emotion of that moment stays with the couples long after, and we are certain, with our horses as well.
Soñador, our friesian horse, walks the corridors of the Caballerizas today at a different pace. After years of accompanying couples through the emotion of their wedding morning, he steps back in an act of dignity and recognition. Having completed his cycle, he deserves the privilege of rest, of living at his own pace. At Luna Escondida, the wellbeing of our horses is not a courtesy — it is a principle. No one embodies it more fully than Don Toño, the caballerango who has watched over Soñador and every horse on the ranch for years, and who recognized, before anyone else, that this moment had come.
His retirement does not feel like a loss. It feels like gratitude. Danilo, Zorongo, and the younger horses have learned his ways, and through the sound of their hooves against the ground, the story of our herd continues to be written. The generational change we witness today follows no external clock: it honors the time it takes to train instinct, to build calm, and to earn the trust that makes this experience safe and worthy.
Soñador's retirement invites us to look closely at something Luna Escondida holds as sacred: the consistency with which this place cares for those who inhabit it. His absence from the photo sessions will be felt, but perhaps that is the cost of truly loving an animal. To respect his time, his cycle, and his dignity is not an isolated gesture — it is the same principle that shapes the way Luna approaches work, people, and everything that grows and lives here. A way of inhabiting the world that asks for no recognition. It is simply practiced.
